What to Expect
FIRST APPOINTMENT
Each initial encounter includes a comprehensive diagnostic interview with one of our highly skilled clinicians so that a unique treatment plan can be designed based on each individual client’s needs. This appointment includes a careful review of the client’s symptoms, previous medical or psychiatric concerns, current mental state, and background information. At the end of this interview, additional services may be recommended including testing, pharmacological referral, or behavioral approaches.
TREATMENT APPROACHES
Neuropsychological Testing
North Shore Center provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessment service to clarify diagnosis and identify any behavioral, emotional, or social factors contributing to current challenges. Extensive treatment recommendations and comprehensive reports are provided in every assessment. North Shore Center specializes in assessment for special accommodations, including LSAT, ACT, SAT, MCAT, and GMAT examinations. Pediatric services are also available, including assessment of specific learning disorders and other neurodevelopmental concerns. We provide school consultation and can assist in identifying recommendations for an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Psychotherapy
Outpatient therapy can be an important component of treatment. North Shore Center is proud to partner with our affiliated group, North Shore Psych Solutions, which offers therapy services that integrate a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities to increase quality of life, adaptive coping, symptom management, and success.
Executive Coaching and Development
Executive function coaching may be recommended as an adjunct to other therapies in a client’s individual treatment plan. North Shore Center offers referrals to partners in our community who can help you build your strengths and talents to compensate for impairments caused by ADHD or executive functioning difficulties.
